Membership Committee

Overview

We build League membership by providing events and activities to encourage members to become involved in the organization.

Activities

• Meetings for all League members are held in months when the League is not presenting a speaker event. These events provide an opportunity for members to engage with the Board and each other about League activities at the local, state and national level
• New Member Orientation sessions as needed, but at least twice a year
• Meets once a month

What Do Members of this Committee Do?

• Plan membership meetings, including the annual meeting
• Welcome and process new members
• Maintain a member information and interests list
• Organize and host new member orientation
• Develop membership recruitment material
• Organize annual membership renewal (June 30!)

Fundraising  Committee

Overview

The League is an entirely volunteer-run organization, but we need funds to keep the essentials going. We do a few fundraising activities per year and could use your help.

Activities

• Fall fundraising mailing (USPS and email)
• Optimize online fundraising
• Spring fundraising ask
• Some specific programmatic events that have some fundraising aspect
• Brainstorming and implementing other fundraising ideas, such as merchandise

Facebook Page Coordinator

Keeping up our Facebook Page.

• Posting content at the request of board members
• Posting events
• Boosting events when needed

Instagram Coordinator

Overview
Adding to the Instagram Page.

Activities

• Creating content
• Posting content at the request of board members

Newsletter Editor or Co-Editors

Overview
Responsible for getting out the monthly newsletter

Activities

• Gather items for inclusion in the newsletter from board members
• Design and write newsletter content
• Use Constant Contact to publish to our mailing list
